What FirstLook is

FirstLook is a paid digital advertising and showcase service. At any given time, one eligible project may occupy the main FirstLook Billboard. Upcoming ownership is allocated through an auction using authorised private maximum bids.

Appearing on FirstLook does not mean that Mishji Digital FZCO has independently reviewed, recommended, certified, invested in or endorsed the project.

The auction

Each upcoming takeover has a minimum bid, an opening time, a closing time and a guaranteed ownership period. You enter the auction by setting a private maximum and successfully authorising payment for that amount. Your maximum is not publicly displayed.

FirstLook may automatically increase your effective bid only as much as necessary to keep you ahead, up to your maximum. The public bid increment in Stage 1 is $1. If equal authorised maximums are received, the earlier valid authorised commitment has priority. Our server time and auction records determine whether a bid was received before closing. The full mechanics are summarised in the Rules.

Authorisation and payment

When you enter an auction, our payment provider may place an authorisation for your maximum amount. An authorisation is not necessarily the amount you will pay. If you win, we capture only the effective winning amount. If you lose or your maximum is definitively beaten, we instruct the payment provider to release the relevant authorisation.

Your bank may take additional time to remove a pending authorisation from your account. Payment-card information is handled by our payment provider. We do not need to store your full card number.

Settlement

At auction close, FirstLook determines the highest eligible authorised bidder and attempts to settle the effective winning amount. If settlement fails, FirstLook may attempt to settle with the next eligible bidder. If no eligible bid can be successfully settled, the current Billboard owner may remain live.

Guaranteed ownership

A successfully settled takeover receives the guaranteed duration shown by the Service. Current Stage 1 rules are: 09:00–21:00 GST, 10-minute guaranteed ownership; 21:00–09:00 GST, 20-minute guaranteed ownership.

After the guarantee expires, the owner remains live without additional charge until another successful takeover replaces them.

Daily ladder

The market day resets at 09:00 GST and the opening minimum resets to $5. The incumbent is not automatically removed when the price resets. Each successful takeover sets the next minimum to one dollar above the effective winning amount. An unsuccessful or no-bid takeover does not increase the ladder.

What your payment does and does not buy

A successful payment purchases the FirstLook placement described above. It does not guarantee traffic, click volume, customers, leads, conversions, sales, revenue, investment, press coverage, social growth, search-engine placement or any other business outcome.

Displayed impression and click counts are operational metrics and may include filtering intended to remove obvious bots, duplicate activity and abuse.

Billboard generation

When you submit a URL, FirstLook may retrieve publicly accessible information from that destination and related public profiles to generate your Billboard. This may include names, logos, screenshots, headlines, descriptions, Open Graph images, location information and publicly observable signals. AI may be used to shorten or present this information. You remain responsible for verifying the accuracy of your Billboard before bidding.

Your authority and promises

By submitting a project, you confirm that:

• you own the destination or are authorised to promote it;
• information you provide is accurate;
• your project and advertising comply with applicable laws;
• you are not impersonating another business or person;
• the destination is not malware, phishing, fraudulent or deceptive;
• you have the necessary rights to the logos, images, names and material you ask us to display;
• any regulated product or service has all legally required approvals.

Prohibited use

FirstLook may refuse or remove content involving illegal goods or services, fraud, phishing, malware, deceptive impersonation, IP infringement, unlawful financial or investment promotions, unlawful gambling, regulated products without required approval, explicit or adult content, hate or violent extremist content, child exploitation, or other material we reasonably consider illegal, unsafe or materially harmful.

You may not interfere with the Service, bypass rate limits or security controls, manipulate metrics, submit automated bids without permission, probe internal infrastructure or attempt to compromise the auction.

Advertising disclosure

FirstLook placements are paid commercial placements. They should not be interpreted as independent editorial rankings or recommendations. Where appropriate, links may be technically marked as sponsored.

Removal and suspension

We may reject, suspend or remove a Billboard or disable its destination where we reasonably believe that these Terms have been breached, a destination presents security risk, a rights holder complains, legal compliance is uncertain, payment is disputed or reversed, or continued display could expose FirstLook or others to harm. Where safety requires immediate action, we may substitute the house Billboard without waiting for the run to end.

Refunds

Completed paid placements are generally non-refundable once the digital service has been supplied. Being replaced later, receiving fewer visitors than expected or not achieving a commercial result does not by itself create a right to refund.

If FirstLook fails to provide a paid placement because of a material failure attributable to us, we may issue an appropriate refund or other remedy. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Public archive

Completed FirstLooks may remain visible in public historical pages such as Today’s Takeovers, Movers & Shakers, day archives, country pages and category pages. Archive entries may include the project, winning amount, duration and performance metrics.

Intellectual property

FirstLook.Buzz, its software, interface and original brand assets are owned by or licensed to Mishji Digital FZCO. Project names, trademarks, logos and assets remain the property of their respective owners. By submitting a project, you grant us a limited licence to use the submitted and publicly retrieved materials as reasonably necessary to create, display, archive, moderate and promote your FirstLook participation.

Third-party services

FirstLook may use third-party services for payment processing, hosting, security, AI processing, email delivery, analytics, screenshots and public-data retrieval. Those providers may have their own terms and privacy practices. See our Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep FirstLook available continuously, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation. We may make reasonable operational or security changes. Frozen auction mechanics should not be changed retroactively for an auction already in progress except where required for safety, law or system integrity.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, FirstLook and Mishji Digital FZCO are not responsible for direct or indirect commercial losses resulting from expected traffic, conversions or business outcomes that did not occur. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates and, where relevant, the laws and competent courts applicable to Mishji Digital FZCO’s place of registration.
